Error Connecting to Host
After downloading the DSP and Shoutcast server 1.92, the DSP fails to connect to the server. I have followed all directions correctly, and I am fairly sure that it has nothing to do with the port I have selected (port 8000.) I have tried other ports, and other IP's, (127.0.0.1, my computer name, localhost, etc.)
I have a firewall and Apache web server installed, but closing these seem to have no effect. Any suggestions? |

This will get a better response in the SHOUTcast Technical Support forum. Hopefully, a mod will move it there shortly.
Thanks. [edit] moved from wa2-ts to sc-ts by moderator --> DJ Egg [/edit] |

Is the DNAS up and running when you try to connect?
Any errors in the DNAS log? What do you have as the address and port in the DSP? Tom |

Yes, the DNAS is running whenever I attempt to make the connection. There are no errors in the DNAS logs... I've tried both 127.0.0.1 and localhost as the address, and I've tried several different ports, but I changed back to the default (8000,) since changing it didn't seem to make a difference.
Another interesting tidbit: I reinstalled Windows late last night. The first thing I did was run Winamp. Oddly enough, it actually connected. I set it up, and even had another person listen to my stream over the internet - they said it worked just fine. I soon shut it down for the night. This morning I tried using Shoutcast again, but I ran into the same problem I had been experiencing - error connecting to host. I run Windows Me and have a firewall installed, but exiting or allowing all traffic on the firewall seems to have no effect... |
