Have you tried setting yPort to 666?
From the DNASs sc_serv.ini/conf configuration file (default section shown below): code: |

have you got windows xp (if so turn off the built in firewall)
have you got a router? (if so you need to forward the port the dnas uses from your router to the dnas machine) |

the windows xp firewall is off.i know this is a very silly question...but i'm pretty illiterate to computer terms.
i'm not too sure wat a router is?and how you connect it to the DNS ports? i'm using a LAN connection...could that be the problem? or a router? if it is, how do i fix it? would be grateful of any suggestions.. |

ahhhh your using the a lan,
in that case u either have a router which shares the internet connection to multiple machines OR you have a computer, which the internet connects to, acting as a gateway or NAT, which shares the internet if your using the router you have to forward requests on the dnas port, from the router, to the dnas machine if your using a pc to do NAT, then you gotta have the NAT/Gateway forward requests on the dnas port to the dnas server hope this makes sense |
