FATAL ERROR means that the DNAS cannot open that socket for some reason. There are usually two explanations for this:
1) Something is already using that port. Make sure you haven't accidentally started two instances of the DNAS with the same sc_serv.ini/sc_serv.conf. If that is not it then there may be some other program already using that port on your system. By changing the PortBase in sc_serv.ini/sc_serv.conf you will be able to find a port that is not in use. 2) If you specified a SrcIP or DestIP and the IP cannot be use by the machine running the DNAS (i.e. it is your router's IP) then the DNAS will give this error since it cannot open a socket on that port on that IP. Changing your PortBase in this case is useless and every number you try will result in a FATAL ERROR. The only way to resolve this is to set SrcIP and/or DestIP back to an IP that your machine can actually use, or of course set it back to the recommended value of ANY. Also this is a major error and will prevent you from broadcasting correctly. Tom |

How to findout why DNAS cannot open the socket?
And how to see if I've started two instances of the DNAS with the same sc_serv.ini/sc_serv.conf? And what do you mean whit IP adress? I have to put some on my network card to get it to work? (I have hard to understand becouse I'm not good at english) |
