Need Help. Only Works Once A While!
I have both Winamp 2.8 and 3.0. I have no idea how to run Shoutcast on 3.0 since I just downloaded it, so I'm using 2.8 and the latest version of the Shoutcast server to do it. I then run my 3.0 and connect to my 2.8's shoutcast server. It works fine the first time, and then it doesn't. What happened? All I did in between was to disconnect and reconnect.
I dont have static IP. So I'm using whatismyip.net to determine my IP. I know I can use LAN IP but I wouldn't want that since I want my friends to join in next time. So tell me, where did I go wrong? It'll play the intro file, the scpromo.mp3, and then nothing happens. But it worked perfectly the first time. Thanks for the help. |

Sorry for making so many posts, but when I go to http://myip:8000, and click on Song History, there's nothing there. My server is still running and I'm still playing songs, so what's up?

Alright, that's what I did. I'm using 2.8 to host the "radio" and using 3.0 to "listen" to it. But the song just doesn't play on 3.0. Are you trying to tell me 3.0 can't even "listen" to a ShoutCAST?

Are you playing any music?
Try loading up some songs in your playlist and then connect to your server to listen. |

Yes, I'm playing music, and my playlist is loaded. What I did was, I streamed my 2.8 with Song A, and put it at 0% volume. Then on my 3.0, I connect it to my 2.8 server, and put on 100% volume. I can't hear anything... so you may think it's because I put it on 0%, nope. I tried 50:50, and it didn't work at all.

Do you have your mixers properly configured?

I'm not sure if they are configured properly, but I made sure they are ALL NOT MUTED, and ALL at MAX volume. Will that work? I'm pretty sure it does.

Alright, I just read through that again, and this time, I notice the following.
"(Use Encoder 2 because Encoder 1 currently has a bug)" Prolly why it wouldn't work. But when I change to Encoder 2, or 5, my Winamp hangs! What's up now? Those have bugs too? |

Open your mixers.
Select the recording mixer. Check (Select) "What You Hear" or "Stereo Mix" Restart Winamp Connect to your server. Play music. Now, connect to your stream. Hear anything? |

Your intro file also may cause this if it is not encoded at the same samplerate as your broadcast.

It's working now. I didn't try the Mixer way, but I am using Encoder 3 and Output 3. It's working, thanks for all the help.
