no data problems...
argh! this is driving my nuts:
<06/20/03@10:10:33> [source] no data (30s timeout). disconnecting. ive been successfully streaming my mp3s for a month or so. but recently, i keep getting some type of error that i cant exactly pinpoint. please help if you can. here is my scenario: running win xp pro winamp 2.9x latest DSP plugin and latest relase of the SHOUTcast Server so i cue up 10 or so gigs of .mp3s. sometimes there may be some .wma files in there as well. but the problem still happens when i cue up mp3s only. so, i start the server. i enable the DSP plug in and connect. and everything works. i hear music then i go to work and tune into my station for about 2-5 songs, sometimes linger, sometimes only 1 song. then i cant connect.so i go home after work. and i have to restart the computer because winamp wont play anything. even when i dump the playlist, kill the server, and disconnect the plug in. i cant hear music. i shut down winamp and look in the system processes via ctrl alt delete, and verify winamp is not there. the app is not running. at this point, the only way to be able to use winamp normally or streaming is to restart my computer. when i hit restart, i get the "this application is still running/end process now" prompt saying that whatever the last tune that my stream crashed on is still running. so i hit end process now. but i thought i had already done that you dumb ass computer! any way. once ive rebooted, im back at square 1. there are no problems using winamp normally, no stream. so im guessing the error i related to my stream? i cant figure out where ive gone wrong. i have uninstalled, one time, winamp, the plugin, and the server. but still get the same error. thanks for reading this lengthy random gripe seesion. -boognish |

well it apears to be on the DSP side, not the DNAS. For some reason it may be disconecting. No data may be sending or some other unexplained causes. Look at your settings and make sure music is playing.

The problem can also be with the wma files since the DSP isn't "out-of-the-box" wma compatible.
Check out the Sticky post titled: SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME! Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: DSP Issues -> How to play WMAs with SHOUTcast |
