D-Link Router, Shoutcast Server, DJ, Problems!
I'm running both the server and DSP on one of the two computers on my home network.
I have comcast cable and am dividing the internet connection with a D-link DI 604 router. I have opened ports 8000-10000 in my firewall as well as created a virtual server forwarding 8000 ~ 8001 to this computer on my network. The server event log shows the following: Event log: <07/02/03@16:43:19> [SHOUTcast] DNAS/win32 v1.9.2 (Nov 25 2002) starting up... <07/02/03@16:43:19> [main] loaded config from C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast\sc_serv.ini <07/02/03@16:43:19> [main] initializing (usermax:6 portbase:8000)... <07/02/03@16:43:19> [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban) <07/02/03@16:43:19> [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip) <07/02/03@16:43:19> [main] opening source socket <07/02/03@16:43:19> [main] source thread starting <07/02/03@16:43:19> [main] opening client socket <07/02/03@16:43:19> [main] Client Stream thread [0] starting <07/02/03@16:43:19> [source] listening for connection on port 8001 <07/02/03@16:43:19> [main] client main thread starting <07/02/03@16:43:28> [source] connected from 127.0.0.1 <07/02/03@16:43:28> [source] icy-name:Timpowers Radio: Timpowers ; icy-genre:Miscellanious <07/02/03@16:43:28> [source] icy-pub:0 ; icy-br:24 ; icy-url:http://www.shoutcast.com <07/02/03@16:43:28> [source] icy-irc:#shoutcast ; icy-icq:0 ; icy-aim:CryPheonix When I try to connect to the service from my other computer on the network it says that it can't connect to the IP. http://12.236.48.234/8000/listen.pls I've given several people the link and it doesn't seem to be working for them. I have no idea at this point what's wrong with it. Please help me. Edit: Furthermore, when I use the radio tools port scanner, it says my port is open and that my server is running. What should I do? |

Please verify your ip. Is it dynamic?
How to find your ip address (Part I). How to find your ip address (Part II). Also, if your router doesn't support local loopback then machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. |

Dynamic, but doesn't change often.
Yes, the IP address is dynamic, but it doesn't change frequently, it's the same now as it was when I posted a few hours ago.

*slaps his forehead unbelievably hard*
It will be tremendously funny if that was the only problem...
My god, if that was the only problem... *laughs!* Edit: But no... that's not the only problem, as you can likely tell... http://12.236.48.234:8000/listen.pls Any more ideas? |

Set the DSP to make your server public and then post the error.

There is no error, it says it adds me successfully.
I just updated the firmware and tried again. And again it says everything should be working. http://12.236.95.147:8000/listen.pls I'm going to test it again now. But yes, there is no error. It just doesn't seem to work. |
