Interesting/strange album titles or band names

There are some bands who consistently give their albums strange names, examples:

POLE
1 (1998)
2 (1999)
3 (2000)
R (2001)
Pole (2003)

I find the above very odd - to start with a numbered series and then release a self-titled album. What will the next release be called??

And the opposite of the above:

STEREOLAB
Transient-Random Noise Bursts With Announcements (1993)
The Groop Played "Space Age Bachelor Pad Music" (1993)
Music for the Amorphous Body Study Center (1995)
Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky Night (1999)

Soon to break into an 11 word title. I put money on it.

Michael Jackson. Strangest musician alive.

"It's like saying give a man a Les Paul guitar and he becomes Eric Clapton, and of course that's not true, give a man an amplifier and a synthesizer and he doesn't become...whoever; he doesn't become us." - Roger Waters

Jim Thirlwell usualy releases his albums as four letter words, often monosybalic, usualy with double meanings and more often than not they can be re-aranged into other 4 letter words.......

Deaf
Ache
Hole
Wash / Slog
Nail
Slut
Thaw
Rife
Sink
Gash
Null
Void
Boil
York
Flow

Jones - Jim Thirwell. What about his lyrics, anything odd about them? It would be interesting to have songs composed entirely of 4 letter words. A bit of a challenge.

Anything odd about Thirlwell? have you ever listened to a Foetus album ?, odd all the way thru to the core, but crafted in a very clever way

Leave you with this snippet from one of my fave tracks, the 10 minute metal/jazz/big band delight that is "Slung"

Quote:
I don't pray to the lord
Just self-flagellate some more
She said I pass out on the floor
At least I ain't no junkie whore
good luck with finding any stuff on line, I've never had much joy, he's also another big buddy with Matt Johnson, see if you can find any of his mixes of Dogs of Lust...

Cheers for that, I'm always open to suggestions. But as you say I'll probably never find any material online - I've got a ream of "needle in haystack" albums on the go already.

You can find some stuff, but not much, barely any recent stuff and never full albums in one go. I've been trying to find the last couple of albums for some time, it's just not popular enuff

I search for Beyonce for the gf I get 20 million results
I search for Foetus I get about 5

I know that feeling. I get my no.1 son to download the wife's music, it's less painful that way. I also have to keep her MP3's in a seperate folder - imagine the horror if I clicked on a Ronan Keating track by mistake.

You'll find a selection of his music here

Shame more artists aren't as free with the samples.

Yeah thanks UJ. I've given Steroid Maximus some airtime this morning (whilst pumping iron), got the 'weird' look from the wife. I haven't heard harpsichords in a while.

Linkin Park - Meteora. They named their album after a town (it is a town in Europe right?).

Labradford - Mi Media Naranja. Song titles:

S
G
WR
C
I
V
P

Each one of these tracks is a 10 minute epic. I'm not sure if "WR" is twice as long (if there's any logic it should be).

dlinkwit, I'm young at heart (and proud of it). At 32 I still play Space Invaders and still watch the Cartoon Network. It'll be no change at 102 either.

Band Name:
New Fast Automatic Daffodils. My mum once walked into my room and asked what I was listening to. I told her, she left quickly!

Anyone who's played a session for John Peel.

Peel's great, the music is great.

House music is great for 'creative' names; Q Burns Abstract Message, Fish Go Deep, etc.

mad capsule markets album titles:
4 plugs (wha?)
systematic (not too bad)
digidogheadlock (eh?)
osc-dis (short for oscillator in distortion... but i don't think that makes much sense in itself)
010

now, the inlay cards have fantastic engrish sci-fi background plots to the albums. an excerpt from the album "010"'s inlay:
Quote:
On May 23rd, it was scattered all over the world. "CHAOS STEP" soonly brainwashed the civilians successfully. Since MAD COM took it as a serious invasion, they sneaked into J.H.C's base to regain the stolen "CHAOS STEP". Although MAD COM was captured in the stronghold within a radius of 2m, 2-step walking robot named "White Destroyder (code name - 010)", which was created secretly by Prof. POSITRON and Mr. Haunted, saved Dr. OCA and recover "CHAOS STEP", and after all chop up the J.H.C's base.
