Broadcasting from Linux
Everyone knows that we are unable to send a broadcast signal from a linux system, but has anyone spent any time looking for a possible workaround? I really want to be able to simply upload the files I have to the server so I wouldn't be wasting my home bandwidth. Would it be possible to set nsvscsrc's directory to an internet address? Or more specifically, the address of the broadcasting server?
It's come to a point where the files I wish to broadcast are too large to stream over my cable modem (3Mbps Downstream and 256Kbps upstream, which is about 30KB upload per second). Plus I have a limit of 12GB of transfer per month on this home machine. The server can handle an extremely large amount of users, so I have no worries there. Note: If I had the ability to program something myself - I would. I can't. Any ideas are MUCH appreciated! Thanks, Zonaxx |

yea I just had to write a php script to do it over at my linux box, that's the only way, is if you wrote a source application specifically for linux. nsvscsrc is an extremely limited program, and this is most likely due to the fact that this whole thing is still in beta and brand spanking new.
