Cannot connect to shoutcast servers

I did a search but only found one related topic, and the solutions didn't work for me.

Here's the problem: I can't connect to ANY shoutcast server. It simply says "couldn't connect[1]".

Here are my system specs:

Winamp 2.91
Windows 2000
AMD XP1700+ 1.5ghz
Geforce 4 Ti 4800
Linksys Router, connecting to SWBELL DSL (this is the only thing I can imagine being the problem.. but my networking knowledge doesn't extend very far, and I don't know how to change or open ports, if thats the problem...)

Any help would be apprecriate... and I apologize if this has been posted before.
