localhost:8000/listen.pls => Where?

Just had a pondering session as of late, and been thinking of doing an 'On Demand' for my radio station, Sega Sonic Radio - doing it the webserver way would help me no end

I needed to ponder because, if I was to achieve both on demand and to easily switch to my live broadcast and back again, I'd need to change the .pls on my webserver, so that the visitor does not get confused with two different .pls files lying about on my site (one for on demand, one for shoutcast).

So, I'm trying to find where the http://localhost:8000/listen.pls playlist is on my computer. Apparently it should be on here somewhere, and doing the 'Find' on Windows isn't coming up with the goods.

Any ideas from the Shoutcast crew where listen.pls is placed upon installation? Thankee kindly

listen.pls is embedded in the DNAS executable.

Need to make playlists? Refer to M3U/PLS specification on how to make extended playlists.

Thanks for the link Fester

I'll take a look, but I just wanted to check listen.pls to see what there is inside that file - what it leads to etc, so I can easily edit the pls files on my webserver.

Go to your DNAS page
-> right click on the listen link
-> save target to your desktop
-> open listen.pls in a text editor

Edit the file adding your content, save, then place on a webserver path.

Cool, that's pretty much all I need
Thanks ^__^

Is there a way to code pls files to randomise what you got in there, or can't you do that?

Sure, code a pls generator consisting of the entries you want then have it randomly construct the pls.

Save it. Upload it. Enjoy it.
