Where you gonna spend Eternity?

Being head-injured, coma almost three weeks, find out what I found out when I went to Heaven. You'll be very surprised and enlightened by the Trinity's bombastic, mellifluous knowledge: With such a price-tag on our souls, human beings are clearly precious beyond cheap-o diamonds; Declarations can never describe how effusively rich, colorful, and illuminating Upstairs was... and is forever. Sign the Guest Book, too. God Bless You. PS Read 'Lui et Moi' by Gabrielle Bossis (published by a French/Canadian firm - all in English). A book that will give you a lot of insight and revelation-to-this-fallen-nation of how God Almighty works. DOMINUS VOBISCUM

Hell. But so many of the people I know will be there too, it'll be like an old boys re-union.

I am going to spend eternity with Mrs B in our own garden. At least if I have my way. If not, I;ll be pretty pissed off with the gods.

I have read accounts of people who, in comas, have have out of the body experiences, who know things about their surgery that they shouldn't know, they saw things from vantage points that they couldn't have seen even if they were conscious on their bed, and I have also read stories of supposedly people going to heaven (or hell for that matter) and meeting relatives, welcoming them, and telling them to not be afraid. I would suggest you don't doubt his experience, because I would be that you have not died yet, or even had a near death experience, and therefor have no expertise on the subject.

Fine, I'll submit to the continuation of this thread, though a duplicate of the thread I mentioned.
I think I'll spend "eternity" in whereever my mind takes me. If I end up dying and "falling asleep" into a nightmare, it's like "hell". So, if I don't land on a "nightmare", I'll be dreaming for eternity - like "heaven". If I don't spend every waking hour thinking of horrible, dark, gruesome things, then I reduce the odds of dying and "going to hell". It's pretty hard to think of something more incredible than-- well you know, but PM me if you don't, I don't want to start another NO-YOU-DON'T flamefest.

(edit: I've had a near-death experience before... but I didn't have time for my "life to flash before my eyes" - if I didn't move as quick and as smart as I could, I'd be living permenantly on the face of a mountain... so... I dunno, you take it from there )

I wasn't doubting anything. It's just his story seems kinda...weird. I think I've had one of those outta-body experences too.

hmm. im a little wary. im not calling anyone a liar, but KoldKadavr
seems to be influenced by christianity, if only a little. if he truly went to heaven, he should know better than to be influenced by any one religion at all. i personally think the movie "what dreams may come" starring robin william, is the closest depiction of what may await us in the afterlife.

I'm with zaeger - after the many thousands of religions that have had their time in the spotlight here on earth, I find it hard to believe that one particular brand has it right and everyone else is wrong. To each his own, just don't try to sell me on yours...I don't buy things from spam emailers, so I'm not likely to sign up with a spam religion salesperson.

Sounds like another cheesy horror movie. "The forum member... FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE" The person who died and continued to post!!!.

It'd be nice to believe that i am that special to be able to last eternity and that the unexplainable can be explained. But i have to accept that i will one day forget my knowledge and go back to the earth from whence i came.

Yeah...
but for me it's less forgetting my knowledge, more my knowledge being forgotten that I'm afraid of... maybe that's why I'm always helping people and giving out much needed advice, etc etc etc...

Weird, though... I have that...exact same feeling about

All religions can't be right.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the light. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Now he was either right or he was wrong. if he was right then Christianity is the only right way, if he was wrong then Christianity is wrong and there may be some other right way. Its up to you to decide if you want to believe Jesus or not.

I'm going to heaven when I die. Not because I deserve to, but because God is merciful and paid the price for my sins with the death of his son.

1. the movie "what dreams may come" is not about religion, numbnuts. its a possible depiction of the afterlife, one that i happen to like.

2. what if all religions are right. who says theres only one? what then, smartypants. you have all the answers, don't you? and the bible doesnt count, it was written by man, and man has been known to make mistakes. maybe jesus was right, but maybe someone wrote down what he said wrong? anything is possible. crazy bible beater.

I don't think that there is just one "right" faith. I believe that all different faiths have a little bit of the truth, but there isn't one that has a corner on the market, in a manner of speaking.
When I die, I'm going to the Summerland. I'll have a rest from this life, figure out what I fucked up, what I could've done a little better, and what I did right. When it's time, I'll come back and live another life of learning and doing. Life is a do-over. That's what I believe.

But why do you believe that the Christian faith is the right one, and the others are wrong? Most likely because you were raised in a predominantly Christian nation, by Christian parents, with Christian friends, etc. If you were born in Iraq you would most likely be a Muslim, if you were born in India you would probably be a Hindu, and on and on. It's fine to believe what you believe, but it irritates me when a person raised a certain way arrogantly proclaims that their religion is the only correct one, and the billions of people who believe a different religion are going to hell, even though they believe what they do based mainly on geography. (Not that you did state that).

I refuse to believe that people would go to hell just for their beliefs. It isn't their fault that they believe certain things, all their beliefs are made up of a tapestry of things they have seen or heard in their life on earth, i e if certain things were wrong they were unaware and/or misguided. Just because someone was misguided for a few years on this miserable earth they are going to banish them to hell for all eternity. Sorry, I just don't buy it.

All I think that any god would want us to do is to have faith in something. People who have no faith and don't feel like living anymore because of it are the only ones who I don't think would be "accepted". This all assumes that there is a god up there.

Yes but these people have lost faith and the will to live because of other forces beyond their control. So why would they not be accepted because of someone elses bad against them?

You say that I am wrong and then you say that all beliefs are right. If that is so then how am I wrong? Do you see how this logic does not compute?

Just because I was raised in a predominantly Christian country, by Christian parents doesn't mean I haven't explored other religions and their claims. I am convinced by prophecy and the fulfillment of that prophecy.

The majority of religions are mutually exclusive.

Christianity states that it is the only way to God.
Islam states that it is the only way to God.
Judeaism states that it is the only way to God.
How can these all be correct as you say they are when they are mutually exclusive?

The only way these religions can be reconciled is if they are either all wrong, or one is right and the others are wrong.
