Yes i know this is the wrong forum, but this needs a lot of airtime. Publishing names? Is that even legal? |

Yeah, you think they would have at least shown some more info for that one person with the generic name. Now thousands of people will be scared thinking that they are being subpoena'd.

Arent kazaa names indecisive? Can't many people have the same name? I guess it depends on what node they get on to. What if they send it to the wrong person? Or are they using IP addys? If so, isn't that illegal or something? Privacy?
Isn't that why we had to sign the rules before entering here, so we knew that they were tracking our ip's? |

two words:
netstat /all Just being connected to KaZaA gives away your IP address. The netstat command is part of Windows. It tells who you're connected to. There's no masking. Why do you think so many KaZaA users are seemingly "hacked"? Someone started downloading from them, got their IP via netstat, and, well, you take it from there. No p2p is completely safe - unless somehow they mask their IP or something. [offtopic]Fickle, would you get on Y! or AIM? Please?[/offtopic] |

KaZaA Lite KPP apparently blocks RIAA IP's + the 1214 port and also does IP blocking.

do they pursue only users who share mp3 so you still can share all other types of files? and do they pursue ALL mp3 like the foreign songs too?
