Jerry Springer, elected official?
wow, Jerry Springer is pretty serious about running for senator.
http://www.msnbc.com/news/939184.asp the big question is, can he get away from the ball and chain reputation of his show??? i know he was once the Mayor of Cincinatti(spell check), but would his campaign really fly? |

Can you imagine the debates with him in there:
Him stood there looking solemn while the people debating throw chairs and whatnot at each other...

heh, good luck.
I don't think he can get away from the ultra-trashy talk show image he's created for himself, I think most of the posts in this thread support my claim.

I can't see Jerry Springer in Congress any more than I can see former Senator Trafficant as President ... but then, hey, that's what this Country is all about ... every little kid can dream of becoming, and if he has what it takes, can become President some day ... one of the great things about this Country ...

You think that if he is elected, he's going to hire people to throw chairs at other Congressman when they don't agree with him?

The thing that (I think) is good about independent candidates getting elected is there's usually no (or not much) partisan crap to muddy their waters and they can do what needs to be done, maybe be a bit more honest about things.
Maybe I'm completely wrong about that though. I'm just making assumptions here. |

i've been thinking about this for the past couple of days, but if i were a voter in that area, would i vote for Jerry? i know that he has political credential (being past mayor of Cincinatti), but what has he done in the past couple of years to lead him to believe that he could be a viable candidate for senate? hmmm, i guess i'll be looking into that a little further.

Mixing the entertainment industry and politics is never a good idea in my opinion.

I saw that episode, it was hilarious....I don't think they would ever change the constitution just for one person though....no matter how famous they are..and if they did, I think I'd have a brain anuerism and die....uggh...

I can see the guy as president, they might change it, make the requirement really high for non-native citizens, like a certain number of years of public service etc...
