help with a server!!

well i am looking for a free server that i can run SHOUTcast on!
is there one that you know of??

its very importent!!!

yer, download winamp, (version 2)

install the shoutcast plugin,

download the dnas server on this link below:

install that, then run the DNAS server

Start >> Programs >> Shoutcast DNAS,

then click edit config

a file pops up ,

scroll down til u come to ; ***************************
; Network configuration
; ***************************

then make srcIp and destip your ip

DestIP=<<Your ip>>
SrcIP=<<Your ip>>

then click close and save
then click kill server >> yes

then reopen it


then open winamp, and press CNTRL+P and it wil bring up a preferences window, go down to DSP/Effect & there you should see the Nullcast shoutcast plugin you installed.

if you haven't installed it or downloaded the plugin, please click the link below then install it, (you must download and install winamp 2 or below first):

so back to DSP/EFFECT, click nullcast shoutcast source, then click configure. then go to output >> and set:

Address: <<Your Ip>>
Port: 8000
Password: changeme (if you change your password on the DNAS config, put the new password)
Encoder: 1

next go to yellow pages, and fill in the boxes with the appropreate thing, e.g. Description: My Radio etc.

now you have configured everything, make sure your DNAS server is loaded, winamp still has the popup box saying SHOUTcast source, then just press play on your song.

then on your DNAS server main window, you should get somthing like this:

<07/29/03@14:07:47> [source] connected from <<Your IP>
<07/29/03@14:07:47> [source] icy-name:My Radio ; icy-genre:<<Category
<07/29/03@14:07:47> [source] icy-pub:1 ; icy-br:24 ; icy-url:<<Your web site>>
<07/29/03@14:07:47> [source] icy-irc:#shoutcast ; icy-icq:0 ; icy-aim:N/A

then visit www.shoutcast.com and search for your radio name, and there you have it, your radio on the net! for users to listen to it, tell them to click tune in!

go on that mate and it will give you your ip at the top, follow my instructions step by step and wherever it says <<YourIp> put the ip you just got off tht web site.

I understand you wish for a free server, we all do. But there just isn't stuff thats free. But NBOX has great great prices, so thats why I told you about NBOX. If a stream provider was free they would lose money all over the place. Since bandwith costs money! so thats all I have to say bout that
