What do you like better PS2 or XBox?

I was faced with this choice recently & I went the way of PS2. Though xbox does have better graphics and its game selection is improving, the tital selection (for me @ least) is a bit more appealing on the ps2 side. The Box is also a bit cumbersome and I dont have a shelf space to accomidate my all my electroinics and THE BEAST BOX. If I were to get an additional console (which I wont) it would be the xbox.
Besides xbox has cooler mods, IE: you can drop a 120gb hardrive in it and then with Xecuter you can rip games and movies your rent from blockbuster on to the HD. So now its still a big box but with a couple dosen (FREE) movies and games on the HD, ready to roll. (a friend of mine has done this and its quite cool)

I haven't experienced the Xbox, I own a PS2 and I like it. So with a vote of neutral for xbox and positive for PS2, PS2 wins.

Consoles? I gave up on console systems years ago. PCs are the only choice for me.

* Incredible game selection
* Better graphics
* More powerful
* MUCH Higher resolutions
* Higher FPS even at such high resolutions
* Anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering
* Porn

Only downside is that a PC costs so much more and is much bigger. Although, you don't buy a PC JUST for games. It's an enternainment center, a word processor, a video editing station, a multitrack recording studio, and an internet access point, just to name a few. So the price is justified as long as your not just using it for games.

Oh, and I should mention, the Playstation 3, I'm sure, will feature Anti-aliasing and Anisotropic filtering along with support for 720p Widescreen HDTV resolutions [maybe even 1080i/1080p]. But still, the technology that is going to make the Playstation 3 so powerful (Cell technology) will have already been in PC's for over a year prior to the Playstations's release. So yet again, the PC will still be much more powerful.

But, for the sake of this poll, if I had to choose between the two systems, I'd choose the Playstation 2. XBox beats it in power, but not enough to make the graphics THAT much better. Playstation 2 has a better controller, much smaller and more attractive system, and most importantly, a much much MUUUCCH better game catalog.

For anyone too stupid to look up one of the other threads, I'll summarise:
Xbox - most powerful by a long way
PS2 - most popular by far, best designed controller
Gamecube - less powerful than an xbox, but you can apparently connect your Game Boy to it.

All three have online games capability, if that bothers you.

Excuse me? The Playstation controller is not the best designed controller, I don't care what you say. Both the Xbox and the PS controllers suck. They're uncomfortable and have bad button layouts. I know because I've played using both of them, and my GameCube controller pwnz them both.

Sony made PS2 to be a console that can be turned into a computer. But to do that you have to spend so much money on parts that a new computer would be cheaper.

Microsoft made the XBox to be a computer designed only to play video games.

Sounds like the early pioneers of the industry.

Awkward, badly positioned sticks? They're not badly positioned for me. As a matter of fact, I took on to the GameCube controller faster than any other controller I've ever used. It was even easier for me to get used to the Cube's controller than the N64's... and the 64's controller is really easy to get used to.

Much like Mattress I have never tried X Box. I am happy with my PS2 all though I have heard it is much slower. There does seem to be much more games for PS2 at the moment but that will soon change. Anyone remember how few games PS2 had when it came out? The thing that I hate is how little they are working on new games nowadays. Most of the games look very crappy that are coming out. Well for PS2 at least. X Box will dominate soon, until PS3 comes out. They say that PS3 will be close to 1000 times more powerful then PS2. Let’s just hope that Microsoft doesn't beat Sony to it.

The Air Foil controller is the shit.
But the ultimate XBox controller does not yet exist

Based on the Small one
Wireless (900mhz) and light
Two mem card slots for xboxlive happyness
force feedback

The Fatty controllers suck. There was no eons of testing. Just a few hundred hours (1 hours per person x 100 people) and was based off the dream cast controller.

The Type S Is actually the best controller ever. VERY comfortable and responsive. Heavy enough to hurt your friend when your pissed and light enough to be comfortable to play with

The gaycube and PS2 controllers are just uncomfortable. Sorry but I find them uncomfortable. And all my PS2 friends agree that the typeS controller for XBox is daShits.

LOL Merlin!!!!!!! I'd love that as a coffee table. If vibrate was activated it'd shake your house down. It's a shame people can't appreciate the sophistication in an x-box controller - after the first day it's very very natural (I'd swear to that under oath).

They should replace aircraft flight-sticks and steering wheels with it.
