Hmm Need some help guys

Hey.. I'm pretty sure I followed the guide in the readme file pretty well.. Though I'm danish, and therefore I might have misunderstod something...

But when I press connect.. It won't connect.. I'm not sure if it's cause I'm having a router which might make some problems.. I tried to open port 8000 to my lan ip to see if that was the problem.. But that didn't help.. So I'm pretty much out of idead/knowledg to know what to do..

Hope you guys might help me

and btw.. I'd like to know how to record (not shoutcast) your voice to mp3 format.. Cause then I could do some commentaries and simply make them avalible for download...

thx in advance

Are you running the Shoutcast server locally on your machine or on an external one?

If you just want to live-comment your stream you can do that by choosing the Soundcard as your input device instead of Winamp. Otherwise there are certainly several tools out there which record and encode your microphone input to an MP3 .... I just dont know them . The standard way would be probably to record your voice by the usual methods and then encode it with a regular MP3 encoder.

Are you running any kind of "personal firewall"? Did you change the ports DNAS is running at? Post the output of the DNAS log.

And about the Personal firewall.. No I'm not.. Currently I'm running win 2k windows.. But I'm using a router to connect the internet which has been a problem for me a lot of times.. I've had to open specefic ports to my lan ip in order to be able to create games in online games ect..

I meant the log of the Shoutcast server. Anyway, AFAIK you cannot leave the password field empty. So specify one in your server configuration, restart the server and use the same password with the DSP plugin.

As you mentioned you are using a router, I suppose you have ADSL or something similar and thus have an internal IP for your computer. Use this one (or 127.0.0.1) for the connection as some routers cannot reroute an internal connection with the external address.

FYI:

From the DNASs sc_serv.ini/conf configuration file:
code:
; Password. While SHOUTcast never asks a listener for a password, a
; password is required to broadcast through the server, and to perform
; administration via the web interface to this server. This server should
; consist of only letters and numbers, and is the same server your broadcaster
; will need to enter in the SHOUTcast Source Plug-in for Winamp. THIS VALUE
; CANNOT BE BLANK.
Password=changeme
