Advertising
Let out all your frustration at the media for having advert after advert after advert all designed to control your thought processes and have a slim chance at buying their product so they can have more money to indulge into paying for shit they don't need. Bastards. Let it all out here....

Advertising is everywhere, and I'm sick of it. I can't even get away from it in the privacy of my own goddamn home. On the tv, on the radio, all over my computer screen, everywhere in my magazines, inside the covers of my cds, on all the billboards on the side of the road, every fucking place... I'm fucking tired of it. I don't listen to the radio anymore because every goddamn time I turn the motherfucker on, there's 20 fucking minutes of shitty commercials playing... seems like they play music in between the sets of commercials nowadays. Same fucking thing with tv. I don't watch that shit anymore, either.

The worst thing about the commercials on T.V. is that they raise the volume on them. I hate that!!!

Everything has become too commercial. Everybody and every single company want you to buy their product(s) so badly, no matter how crap or how much uncalled for it is.
It's just gotten rediculous. Just look at magazines, turn on the TV, listen to the radio, surf the internet *agrees with Sarge*It's like ... all over the damn place. If I watch something on TV, I can be sure the show gets a rude interruption every ~20 minutes for up to ~8 minutes . It's just become really worse the past couple of years with the commercial shit. It's not like all these ads everywhere increase the chances I actually buy the damn shit that's advertised .As for the inet, they have ad filters that do work, now we just need something like that for everything else .

I'd like to see what an ad-filter for roadside billboards would look like.

advertising lets you know of new products which plays a big part in businesses and helps you choose the right stuff for you to buy plus it pays sites and tv-channels that you watch so they can keep running, without them they wouldn't exist, thus Advertising is good!

i need: food, water, a place to sleep without getting killed/dying of inadequate places to sleep. That is my bare necessity. I do not need every fucking thing that's ever been inveneted paraded in front of me with flashing lights and misinformation about what this magical product can do for me.

I used to work for an advertising agency. The gimmicks that were thought up blow my mind. The sales reps were always sending over packages that fit demographics. Glad i escaped to mental health LOL.

I normally don't mind advertising that much, but in the last few months I've been noticing just how much is on the radio. I understand that they need it to keep the station running, but jesus fucking christ, they don't need a 2:1 ratio of ads to music. I can drive from my house to my friend's house who lives 10 minutes away and not hear one single fucking song; it's entirely ads. I've gotten to the point where I refuse to patronize companies that advertise on radio stations that I listen to. The only thing you can do is switch between three stations constantly to find one that's playing decent music. It makes me want to shoot the people who come up with the stupid-ass monologues and then tie their dead bodies to the people who do the voices and throw them into a river.

One thing I liked about Colorado. No billboard ads. In fact, I didn't see a sign over 10 feet tall or so. Makes a world of difference both inside and outside the city.

Yeah, well, my connection isn't that great... even if they do call it "broadband."
Just for the hell of it, this afternoon on my way home from work, I turned on the radio to see if the usual commercials were playing. To my surprise and delight, I didn't hear a single commercial during my entire drive home. I was like... Cool! But, figure the odds of that ever happening again.

There's this rather local mainstream radio station called N-JOY that doesn't broadcast any commercials, downside is they play the same mainstream crap all over
![]() The "good" radio stations that play rather underground music ... don't really exist, that's why I got Winamp streaming music all day .Ah well, can't have everything I guess .

In my ideal utopia, the only ads allowed would be in magazines and on billboards. It totally wouldn't work, but this is utopia we're talking about, it doesn't have to make sense. |

Ads in magazines are whack, too. On certain magazines (no, not the Playboy
), it's gotten so bad that there's a fullsized ad on every other page ![]() Not mentioning the rather little ads in between paragraphs sometimes. Really ugly, makes me wanna throw the damn magazine against the wall, it really prevents me from enjoying the articles. |

There are some billboards near where I live that are preferrably located near traffic lights that would even electrically change their ad paper roll after a moment. Those are really ugly, quite high, too
.They seriously cluttered the area with these. |
