0 db, pretty much don't know what's happening.

ok so I want to dj for this net radio thingy. they gave me a tutorial on how to set everything up, but it seems to be not agreeing with it lol

let me just tell me what I have it all put on

96kbps 44 stereo that's the encoder

soundcardinput = 44 hz stereo
sound card mixer I have microphone selected
music level at -6db
bg music level at -20 db
mic level at 0 db
fade time 1000 ms

I use c-media as a sound card.

I open the mixer, and go to the recording controls
I have stereo mix selected and not microphone.

ok now the problem is:
it tells me to play some music and the db levels should be jumping. it's at a constant high, and it shows me 0 db. I asked the guy and he said it should be jumping up and down. I don't know what is wrong, can you guys help me?

also, when I stop the song in mid playing the bar goes to -32 db...

umm, didn't I just post it?

music level at -6db
bg music level at -20 db
mic level at 0 db
fade time 1000 ms

err ::edit:: the chart thingy with the blue bar going up and down,
the top most mark says 0 db and the bottom one is -inf db, does that mean when I'm at 0 db, it's actually playing the song?

No, you didn't.
Soundcard != Winamp/DSP

Click the Mixer or Open Mixer button and this should open both the Recording Mixer and the Playback Mixer (you will most likely need to move one of them to see the other).

Try lowering them.

Full = not good.
Full = blasting.
