offline broadcasting
I posted a topic like this about a month back, and i was told that the only way to broadcast online would be if i did it on my LAN.
I was looking through the DNAS config and i found: ; BackupFile can specify a mp3 file that will be streamed to listeners over ; and over again when the source stream disconnects. AutoDumpUsers must be ; 0 to use this feature. When the source stream reconnects, the listeners ; are rejoined into the live broadcast. ; Note that the backup file MUST be the same samplerate/channels as the ; live stream in order for this to work properly. Although bitrate CAN ; vary, you can use '%d' to specify the bitrate in the filename ; (i.e. C:\backup%d.mp3 would be C:\backup32.mp3 if you are casting at 32kbps). ; The default is no BackupFile ; BackupFile=C:\intro%d.mp3 I was wondering that if i put a pre-recorded show on there as an mp3 file, once i go off-line, the current listeners will be listening to the pre-recorded show and other people could still tune in. Would that be possible? If i did that, would i still be listed in the yp when i am offline? Stu |

The DNAS does not source itself.
The backupfile entry in the configuration will only be played for already connected listeners if the source is dropped from the DNAS. Listeners cannot connect to a sourceless DNAS. |
