requested feature in shoutcast 2.0 streaming software

i would like to have the delay option on it so admins can turn it off or on at their request. there is a buffer setting on almost every mp3 player that can be used by the listener to meet his/her specs. shoutcast and ircing do not mix because we try to do something on cue and it doesn't show up 40 seconds later. this lag is very old and our server will hopefully be on a different system like icecast 2 or supercast if this delay isn't fixed when 2 is released. yes i understand about a need to buffer but as i stated that is why there are controls on winamp or the user's mp3 player.

yea, but this buffer effects all of your users, whereas the player settings are more of a private setting. I think that they are planning on adding ways to adjust the buffer, but not eliminate it.

If I were you though and real time was this important then I would just switch as long as these products meet your needs better.

Also if you really want to use shoutcast go to 1.7.x, just remember that there is a buffer overflow bug in it.
