If out Kbits..automaticly lower birrate?
Hello fooks.
I have the following question: I can have a maximum of 7 users here at home. but if i selected in config a max of 9 and there will be 9 what happens then, i hope that my bitrate lowers automaticly. If thit isn't, is it possible to set? Thanks for your time to read please Jeroen HMR (techno, hard-style, old-school, and others) |

The DNAS is basically a 'black box'.
Configure it poorly, expect it to work poorly. Configure it well, expect it to work well. Set MaxUser to the maximum number of listeners you can handle with your upload and your target stream bitrate. Set MaxUser too high, expect buffering on the client side. *********** Check out the Sticky post titled: SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME! Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: 1. DNAS Stuff -> Bandwidth -> DSLReports Bandwidth tester(Only be concerned with the UPLOAD bandwidth) 2. DNAS Stuff -> Bandwidth -> CasterClub's Listener Calculator 3. DNAS Stuff -> Bandwidth -> CasterClub's Bandwidth Calculator Use 1 to find your upload. Use 2 to determine the number of listeners you can support at your selected streaming bitrate. Jay (KXRM) also has a Bandwidth Calculator. ***************** If the number don't come out satisfactory, use Third party DNAS hosting. |
