As one who serves in the IAF (Israel Air Force), I have to say this is insulting!
The discipline in the AF is the same as in the "green" corps... (well at least here but is it probably the same in all armies).
When you compare the education level of your community college and of the college that the army will pay for, which one has the upper hand?
BTW, joining the army doesn't mean it'll be your path in life, you can serve in a certain proffesion in the army for an X amount of years and then join the civil life with that proffesion in your hands.
(And to all who wonder, no, I'm not a pilot)
Being an officer has its benefits for sure, but question is - can you handle the responsability that an officer has in comparision to the responsability a "regular" soldier has?
Being an officer is quite a whole other world and is not like something that one might see in the movies. Hell, army is not what you see in movies.
