server setup for a dsl connection
i have 512/256 dsl can i realisticly run a server? if so how should i set it up to connect 4 users with good quality (if its possible)

oh and as my ip is dynamic i presume a service like www.no-ip.com would be needed? oh and could i just distribute my ip to my users (there trusted)

looks like my bandwidth is too low,i thought it might be. is there a way round this? preferably something free.

hmm depends what genre you play, some people provide free servers for low user-count if they have space, and some just ask if you want to dj for them.. heh

is the output bitrate the same as the mp3's or will shoutcast downmix it a bit?

its based on the encoder, if you tell the output bitrate to be eh 96 then it will downmix or upmix, depending on m3 bitrate.
