Getting listed on www.shoutcast.com

I have installed and configured SHOUTcast DNAS, but I don't seem to get listed on www.shoutcast.com. What have I done wrong?

Thanx

For public/private, check out the DNASs sc_serv.ini/conf configuration file for the section (default shown below):
code:
; PublicServer can be always, never, or default (the default, heh)
; Any setting other than default will override the public status
; of the source plug-in or of a SHOUTcast server that is being relayed.
PublicServer=default

For errors, look in the DNASs log.

Not listed

So this seems to be the problem:

<09/10/03@21:44:58> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 62.14.122.50:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection refused))

Can you give me any hint as to how to disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache? I have no firewall installed. OS is XP Home, couldn't find firewall settings of Internet Explorer.

Sorry, I'm no expert in this stuff.

Thanks a lot.

Did you disable/configure the built-in XP firewall?

Do you have a router?

Is 62.14.122.50 your ip?

Check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin and see if the reported information there helps.

Please read some polite advice.

I am in the same situation but have a little more to share on the subject. I has fiddleing around with it and started a server and ran myself as a dj that of coursed worked fine. But i ran into the problem when trying to find my server on shoutcast i soon realized that i was not connected. I could not receive the incoming signals nessary to have listeners and be posted. Upon speaking with my ISP's they told me that the ports that i was using for the station are blocked for security reason agianst the worm virus. He suggested trying to used alternate ports to see if they were not blocked. So here is where i raise the question is there any way of having a alternate server that is clear of these port restriction or is there any way i can go around mine???

Have you tried changing the DNASs portBase?

Check out the DNASs sc_serv.ini/conf configuration file for the section (default shown below):
code:
; PortBase. This is the IP port number your server will run on. The
; value, and the value + 1 must be available. If you get a fatal error when
; the DNAS is setting up a socket on startup, make sure nothing else on the
; machine is running on the same port (telnet localhost portnumber -- if you
; get connection refused then you're clear to use that port). Ports < 1024
; may require root privledges on *nix machines. The default port is 8000.
PortBase=8000

Built-in XP firewall is disabled.
I have a router.
According to http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin
- 62.14.122.50 is my IP,
- 62.14.122.50:8000 is Closed

Is there a way for me to find out which ports are available, or do I justa have to pick one and try?

Issue a 'netstat -a' command from a command prompt window.

Does your ISP block ports?

netstat -a indicates some connections are established, some are listening, some are close_wait. How do I know if my ISP blocks ports?
