SHOUTcast New--bee

Yea, i just heard about shoutcast on TechTV...and ive wanted to be able to do thise for a while now. OK, heres the deal. I downloaded Winamp 2.xx and that plug-in u need. Anything else i need, cuz i go into "Configure" and the "output" cant connect. Do i need to do something else? And if so, how did u guys do it. Well, Lates. And Thanx in advanced.

do you have the Shoutcast DNAS server installed, (not the DSP)

how do i find my ip address and port number? i tries that Start>Run> Something and yea.....but it sais that windows could not find the file or wat knot

By default, it's going to be 8000.. but check your server config file.

on the Nullsoft SHOUTcast Server Monitor it sais...
<09/14/03@14:32:23> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak)

Ofcouse the X's replace my ip address

Two (or less) easy steps:
1. If you have a firewall, open the necessary port(s).
2. If you have a router, configure it to forward the necessary port(s) to the DNAS machine.

Check out the Sticky post titled:
SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME!

Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled:
DNAS Stuff -> Errors -> Fixing [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx) from the Internet, disable NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out)

Are the necessary ports open in your firewall and are they being forwarded to the DNAS machine?

Check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin and see if the reported information there helps.

yes, i see. well, ive never installed and internal firewall or external.im on a router, but how do i forward...wat-knot? remember, im a new-bee.
