New broadcaster looking for help ...

Hello there. I am just trying to set-up a new station and am not sure if I got things set-up correctly or not. My station is called Disco-Rocker (mixture of music from disco to rock). The address should be http://hotrox.sytes.net:8000/listen.plshttp://hotrox.sytes.net:8000/listen.pls My admin panel is working, but I noticed on another computer here that the link on ShoutCast site doesn't point to the listen.pls So please if anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

http://hotrox.sytes.net:8000 -> your DNAS

If you have a router and it doesn't support local loopback then machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.

Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.

Hi there. Thanks for the reply. So for example you (not on my lan) will need to use the actual ip instead of the no-ip re-direct thing I got. I am streaming now, so if you (or anyone else) could please try either the above address or http://205.206.80.147:8000 just to see if you can access my station. Thanks in advance and hope it works. Have a wonderful day.

You can get a "no-ip redirect" at www.no-ip.com

Hi there. Thanks for the replys to my inquirey, and glad to know that my station is up and accessable. For the no-ip address I set mine for a DNS re-direct (first option listed I think) at http://no-ip.com Hope that helps out for those having difficulty with that. Thanks again all.
