Encoding rates for W/A 2.x

Hi to all... this is my first post which, if it receives a helpful reply will make me very happy! We're in testing mode of our radio station on a new Shoutcast server. We're currently still online at another web-station server until last day of contract. At that other web-service I encoded all audio files at 16/11/mono using an excellent LAME-based independent software; and with very good audio as a result! Now, here at Shoutcast, I find that my S/C source plug-in only offers streaming encoding rates down to 24/22. That's fine, since my current files at 16/11 are just being enhanced a bit, if at all noticeable. However, I've seen and listened to several S/C stations which are encoding at 8/8, as seen in appropriate Winamp windows. MY QUESTION: How are they doing it? I'd like to be able to broadcast my audio at it's original encoded rate of 16/11... it will also give me "more bandwidth for my money"! :-) Your helpful response will be greatly appreciated at "Radio Voz De Gracia" under the World/Latin genre! Have a nice evening!
