Looking for good skin artists!

Hello!

I hope this is okay to make a request like this (I've been using Winamp since 1997 or so, but havn't hit these boards), but my web site (www.motorcityimprov.com)is in need of some Winamp Skin downloads!

The site is for a comedy troupe located here in Detroit, and our site generates 300-350 hits a day (peaks at 380 in the middle of the week when we send emails out). We now have video of comedy bits on the site that has become very popular, so we get hits from all over the world. And that's with only one video currently online! (We have 8 more ready to go, with one new video being put up every 2 weeks).

Adding to the video, we have some kick butt desktop wallpapers coming soon (and we're accepting submissions for new ones), but I'd also like to add more content in the way of skins.

For anyone that submits skins, we'd give him or her full credit and link to whatever email or web site you have. Because of our traffic, that'd get you a lot of exposure.

Here are our two logos: Logo 1 and Logo 2. (Both are .eps Adobe Illustrator documents.

So if anyone is interested, send me an email if you have any questions. Also feel free to check out out site for ideas.

I'm not sure exactly if the logo you provide is enough to create a winamp.2.skin. I'm sure something can be created in winamp3...Though, it would take some time to code it up.

Basically,

What you have is a Fully Text Generated Logo...Very Little to work with as far as a skin is concerned...

As far as matching it to your site we run into a problem there considering your site is fairly...Simple (likely in order to keep it easy to navigate.).

So, here is the challenge...If you request a skin to be gen'd and provide a logo to be used in that skin...It will likely be only part of the total skin...But, I am willing to look into it...given a few days...I may be able to come up w/ something though it will be within the confines of winamp2 and limited to 275x116 Pixels respectfully.

Cool, thanks.

I don't know the first thing about making skins, so your comments help. I guess I was going off of my experience with my Desktop Wallpaper artist, where he used the logo (the masks in the logo mainly) and some images of a Detroit skyline and came up with some pretty cool stuff.. I guess color scheme too.

The site is simple (don't worry, I'm not offended! ) because it meets the needs of our visitors (no need to get very hi-tech for what we're promoting) and it's easier for me to build it! That may change as we put more videos up because we are no longer just promoting our live shows to our local audience, we are getting people from all over. At that time, the site might go to flash (and probably a new designer).

Thanks again jax.

Not everybody has Illustrator, or, in my case, is too stupid to use it, or too lazy to install it.

Mind a .psd, or at least a .jpg?

Well, PSP opens EPS files. Doesn't Photoshop open them?

I have Photoshop 5 and Paint Shop Pro 6, and both of them can open the logos. o_o Paint Shop Pro makes them look a little strange though. Anyway, you apparently don't need Illustrator to be able to see 'em...

EPS is not an illustrator format, it's a standard: "Encapsulated PostScript". There are lots of programs capable of reading them.

Many who live deserve death, some who die deserve life - can you give it to them?
Then be not so quick to deal out death in judgement.
