Voiceprint -> Audio program?
Um, yeah. I was watching the Nullsoft Tiny Fullscreen Visualization thing when an idea came to me - why not have a program that does the opposite - that is, turn image input into audio output? Since I dabble both in audio stuff and visual arts, I can think of several creative uses for this sort of program. Anyone have any ideas on how to transform the idea into a functioning program, or is it an impossibility?

... I wonder how a nude would sound if this ever became a reality.

I'm sure it could be done... a program to convert the RGB values for an image into frequencies.
All that would really be left to do is adjust tempo... |

Hmm. While that program is interesting, I'm really looking for a program that'll take greyscale images, where each row is for a specific frequency, and convert that into sound. Shouldn't be too difficult, but I'm not a programmer, just a nut.

And that second program? With the files I ran through it, it sounded almost exactly like radio static with the volume cranked to max.

Um, yea.. seemingly random numbers would pretty much produce static.

Try downloading fruity loops it has a beepmap thing that comes with it, it converts bmp files to sound.

Like I said - a program to convert greyscale images of a certain height to audio, with each row representing a specific frequency would be the sort of thing I'm looking for. Maybe variable height, even. Basically, the reverse version of the Nullsoft Tiny Fullscreen "Sexy Scrolling Voiceprint" thing.

Ah, frick. Can anyone tell me where I could likely find people who might be interested in working on this sort of somewhat useless program?

Har har har. That's not very helpful, though.
Should I post this in a different forum? |
