patchy playback

my friends have found me, after much searching, and well, theyre saying the playback is patchy or it tries to reconnect after 10 seconds. they are on braodband. what do i do?

The question is what internet speed you're on. You may need to lower your rate at which you broadcast. Use this listener calculator and this bandwidth calculator.

i dont understand them...im on a 600k broadband connection... and im doing the thing at 128kbps

Those calculators are a very simple way of calculating what bitrate you should broadcast at and how many listeners that you can handle.. The information you have given me above is sufficiant enough to fill in all information and get what you need from the calculators.

so it says for 600k at 128 i should have 4 ppl... so if i put it to 4 it should work better?

Try talking to your ISP about upload speed. Or ask google about possible upload speed tests.

If in fact it is 600k and the calculator tells you that you can handle 4 listeners at 128kbps, then you will not be able to handle more than that without mad buffering.
