Probably A Stupid Question

Hi,
This is probably a stupid question but how do I know if my station is on-line??? It seems like it is. However I can't connect to it on another computer an it seems like it is on-line. Below is my report. Please let me know.

Thanks,
Dan

That seems all good, no problems at all.

Post a link for us to test the stream.

http://YourIp:YourPort/listen.pls

Your IP - www.whatismyip.com

[edit]Being touched means it updated your stats on the SHOUTcast YP directory. Though, your station won't show up on the list for up to 15 minutes.[/edit]

That's your local IP. Use your "real world" IP.

Enter either 'localhost' or '127.0.0.1' into the address box. This tells the source to send to the server on your computer. You send the real-world IP to people to listen. ( http://yourIP:yourPORT/listen.pls )

You should be able to connect properly. If you can't, please send any errors you receive in the server log.

Try entering 'localhost'. That usually works the best.

Also, give us the link so we can test your stream.

localhost must be one word. They're the exact same things, so no worries. Do whichever you prefer.

192.168.0.5 is your LAN IP.. not your real world IP. Meaning, if you gave that link to someone, they wouldn't be able to connect to you.

Get your Real-World IP here.

That all depends on if you have any errors in your DNAS log.
