Winamp 5 video window bug

Sorry to post this here, but I don't see a bug report forum for Winamp 5.

This bug concerns the video window. I opened up my favorite video stream (ohmytrance.com) with the new Winamp 5 beta. The video came up in the integrated video window. I then chose to "Detach Video". Once detached, the video window would not close. Every time I tried to close it (either via the [X] or unchecking "Video" from the dropdown menu), it would pop back up immediately. I tried this several times. If I re-attach the video window, the detached window will automatically pop up if I enter Windowshade made, and re-attaches automatically when I return to normal mode.

I'm in the process of determining what steps are required to allow the video window to be closed while still listening to the stream. I have been able to do this twice so far. After I am able to get it to close, it will work fine that way until I close and re-open Winamp 5. I will post the steps taken to get it to close if I can figure it out, or if it's even guaranteed reproducable. Note that the video window only remains unclosable when an active video stream is playing.

I'm running Windows XP SP1a and DirectX 9.0b. My Video card is an NVidia GeForce4 Ti4600 running Detonator v45.23 drivers. I have the following video settings enabled:
- Display the video window when video playback begins
- Resize video window to fit video
- Disable Windows screensaver when in fullscreen mode
- Lock video aspect ratio
- Allow hardware video overlay
- Allow YV12 overlay mode

On a side note, I'm not sure if this is intended or a bug, but every time the stream changes videos, the library window pops up on the screen. Hope this info helps squash whatever is causing this. Let me know if you would like me to provide any more info.

EDIT: changed subject name to better reflect problem

So why is it in WA2_Disc then? lol

@dj_sonik
There's a sticky thread at the top of the WA2_Bugs forum for all WA5 Bug Reports.

There's also a sticky thread for known bugs

Seeing WA5 is the direct upgrade from 2.x, then when it's fully released, all the Winamp 2 forums will be renamed to Winamp 5.

Have you tried checkmarking: "Stop playback when video window is closed"?

DJ Egg: It was moved to the WA2_disc, probably by mistake, instead of WA2_bugs.

I haven't checkmarked that because I don't want the playback to stop when the video window is closed. Currently in WA2, I can play a video stream and close the video window, thus getting only the audio portion (which is what I want to happen). It works very sporratically currently with WA5, thus the bug report for it.

Hmm . . . most strange.

"I then chose to "Detach Video". Once detached, the video window would not close. Every time I tried to close it (either via the [X] or unchecking "Video" from the dropdown menu), it would pop back up immediately."

Can't personally reproduce this. Anyone else?

"If I re-attach the video window, the detached window will automatically pop up if I enter Windowshade made, and re-attaches automatically when I return to normal mode."

Yes, this is normal, it's meant to do that.

"On a side note, I'm not sure if this is intended or a bug, but every time the stream changes videos, the library window pops up on the screen. Hope this info helps squash whatever is causing this. Let me know if you would like me to provide any more info."

Prefs -> Library -> Library Options
Checkmark "do not allow media to automatically switch to Now Playing"

I'm getting gaps in ogg.

When I first turn on winamp, I can use the scroll wheel to scroll through the playlists. But after I change the scaling or dock the playlist editor window to the main one... the scroll wheel only changes the volume (this was with the MMD skin)

Can this thread be closed? There's already a thread on this in WA2 bugs!

Yes.

Please stick to posting WA5 Bug Reports in the appropriate sticky thread in the WA2 Bugs forum (as linked to above in my first reply, hint hint).

*whacked*
