Custom Playlists

Hello

I have searched the form for threads but haven't found anything exactly to the effect of what I need.

I need to make a intro playlist (not a file attached on the shoutcast server.) It needs to have an intro mp3 thats hosted from the server hosting my webspace and not from the shoutcast server. Then the playlist needs to have the 3 different relays. This is so that the listeners will not have to listen to the intro mp3 again if they get disconnected from a server. I'm not sure how to go about doing this.

Any help would be appreciated. Thankies!

Hrmm. Why would you necessarily want it on the webhost instead of on the shoutcast server? does your host not support the intro file?

Or are you saying that you want to make a playlist with:

1. Intro
2. Relay 1, 2, & 3?

If so, just make that playlist in winamp, save it then post it on your site. Of course, use the add URL option in winamp for everything and don't drag and drop it for maximum results.

Then tell your listeners to click that playlist to listen. Thats all i could imagine. I don't think the shoutcast DNAS supports off-server intro files. i could be wrong tho.

Well then, wait...if I have multiple servers relaying one stream, then how do those extra streams show up in Shoutcast YP? For instance, if I have four relays and one man stream, does the YP say CLUSTER and automatically list all five servers in winamp?

since you are making a custom playlist then you have to add them.

Although if they go through shoutcast.com it will show all 5 but not your intro file. Yes it does say cluster.

Remember, if you have the other dnas's on relay mode, the main server considers them as backups, thus when another user logs in and say the main server is full, it redirects them to one of the backup.
