Firewall ports for shoutcast streaming>> winamp
Hey Guys,
I notice that I cannot connect to all streaming content via Winamp3 from behind my company's firewall. Are the ports for streaming content configured on a per provider basis? I noticed that some are on 8000 but some vary quite a bit. Thanks, Sean Ball |

The DNASs portBase is configurable per station.
The default is 8000. |

Thanks Festerhead.
I suppose I could craft some firewall rules to accomodate those who do not conform to the standard port assignment. Thanks for your help. Sean Ball |

There is no standard portBase for SHOUTcasting, just a default value.

Perhaps I should have said 'deviate from the default value.' Thanks for the correction.

Hello,
Always unblock ports 1 before and after the listening port. For example: Set port: 8000, also unblock port 7999 and 8001 Let me know if that works! Thanks and God Bless! |

I have had no problems dwoldo opening only the one port after the listening port.
lets asume this... Default Port = 8000 then I would need to do this: Ports to open = 8000-8001 |

Hmm. I must be thinking of broadcasting from the server, not for the listener. I apologize.
Thanks and God Bless! |

portBase+1 only needs to be opened/forwarded if the DNAS is going to be sourced from someone outside the network.
