Argh!! Car Insurance Cock-up!!!

Bastards!!

My car insrance people have just admitted making a BIG cock-up in my car insurance.

When i first took out the policy, it was for a Mini Cooper (nice lil thing) which i had for about 3 months. I sold it and bought a van (far more practical really!). Anyway, the mini insurance was cancelled, and a new policy was opened for the van.

However....

What the car insurance company forgot to do was cancel the old policy with the mini. Hence, for the past two months, i have been paying two premiums!!! I rang the car insurance people up and they say that they have no record of this policy. Nice!! I then get put on hold for what seemed like forever, to then be told that they can't find my details. ARGH!!! AM I INSURED??? Anyway, i get a call back later from some guy telling me that they have been taking the money thinking i still had the policy!! FFS! I CANCELLED IT YONKS AGO!!!!

Anyway, after a bit of ranting and raving, there's a cheque in the post for me!!

Though i'm never gonna use them again.

What are you bitching about? You now have a cheque that you didn't have this morning, and obviously wouldn't have missed if you let this run for two months.

I'd be delighted if my insurance company decided to send me money...

I agree there. be glad you got money, They could have just screwed you out of it.

My car insurance did the same thing. I took a car off my policy because it was totalled in an accident, and put my new car in it's place. They kept billing me for both cars. I caught it, pitched a fit, and they gave me a refund.

Yes, it's not like my continuing battle with Vodafone, who took £150 from my bank account for no reason in August, and keep saying when I phone them up (on a premium rate helpline number) that they've instructed payment to be made, and it should be with me in the next few days.....

So I'm not happy with Vodafone, and as soon as I get the money, I think I'm going to switch provider.
