Can't connect to server

Hey there,

I am using Winamp 2 with the SHOUTcast DSP plug-in installed.
I'm behind a proxy and firewall.

I want to connect to a remote SHOUTcast server, but I can't. I tried forwarding the url and port directly at the router, but that had no effect.

If anyone can help me out, thanks!

Please post a link to the DNAS.

Did you change the DNAS variables srcIP and destIP from ANY?

Is your DNAS and Winamp/DSP combo on the same machine?

What exactly are you entering for "Address" and "Port" in the DSP?

Please answer them all to expidite your help request.

Please read some polite advice.

The DNAS in question is bob.poddle.net:10006

Other random people can connect to it, so I guess that the srcIP and destIP variables are okay.

The DNAS is not on my PC. I would like to use the DSP to broadcast to the remote DNAS.

I tried entering both the address and the IP-address of that server in the Address bar of DSP.

I even tried to connect to that server on that port with telnet. That seemed to work, but the DSP plugin still states: "Not connected" after trying to connect for a while.

Can you get the Portbase changed?

Is the DNAS showing any errors?
If not then you need to double check YOUR settings in the DSP.

make sure srcip and destip are the same and set to the IP of the server itself -- i.e. whatever the IP of "bob.poddle.net" is.

You can also use the default "ANY" setting for both.

I can't access the DNAS. I'm only allowed to connect to it using the DSP. The settings they sent me are double checked (adres, port, password)

I tried both bob.poddle.net and 212.42.1.216, both can not connect.
Is there any way to setup proxy settings in the DSP?

So, it's like this:

Me --> DSP --|firewall&proxy|--> (public) DNAS

Is the proxy/firewall blocking the outgoing connection?

Not that I know of, telnet is able to connect to that particular server, using that port.

I am able to see a DNAS at http://bob.poddle.net:10006/

Make sure the DNAS is connection free before trying to connect.

It accepts only one source connection at a time.
