I can't connect cuz of ip problems :-S
This is my problem...
I have 2 pc's at home... and a laptop. I have a broadband internet connection and use a router to put both pc's and laptop on the net. So when i start my pc, i don't need to connect, cuz it's already connected... Now I want to start shoutcast server... and I get this error... <11/24/03@02:27:42> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave error (nak) <11/24/03@02:27:42> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 62.234.49.221:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out)) I understand that it definies the ip adres of my internet, but not my pc. I changed the ip adres of my pc... but still no effect. I still get the same error... I tried o whole bunch of things... with no result... (maybe i need a hamer :S) I also tried to config the shoutcast server and yet again with no result. How can i fix this sh*t??? PLEASE HELP!!! :'( |

Two (or less) easy steps:
1. If you have a firewall, open the necessary port(s). 2. If you have a router, configure it to forward the necessary port(s) to the DNAS machine. Check out the Sticky post titled: SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME! Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: DNAS Stuff -> Errors -> Fixing [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx) from the Internet, disable NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out) Are the necessary ports open in your firewall and are they being forwarded to the DNAS machine? Check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin and see if the reported information there helps. Please read some polite advice. |

I'm sorry but I've tried what you said... but still no effect...
There's is just one thing bugging me... When I go to the setup wizard of my router I found a window... with special applications... I'll try to draw it down here... Special Applications can only be used by 1 user at any time. Incoming ports Outgoing ports Name Type Start Finish Type Start Finish 1 dialpad udp 51200 51201 udp 51200 51201 2 paltalk udp 2090 2091 udp 2090 2091 and a lot more... Totally of 6. Do I put shoutcast between? ifso... what are the incoming and outcoming ports... and what kind of type is it (choose between udp and tcp...) If that is not what the problem is... then what is? I have no firewall... I've done those sh*t with the dnas stuff... still no effect... |

SHOUTcast is TCP.
Enter the portbase that you're using (default being 8000) and then portbase+1. Ex: 8000 tcp 8001 -- Michael |

As long as the ports are forwarded properly on your router and you have all access granted to SHOUTcast by your firewall, everything should work great.

Then there is some fault that you're making while forwarding the ports..
What brand router do you have? {Ex: Linksys, D-Link) -- Michael |

It's a network configuration issue on your end.
Nothing to do with the DNAS. |
