Why would you want a static IP?

Why would you want a dynamic ip?

********************************

You can get a static name, such as foo.bar.com (not as cool as that, though ) from http://www.no-ip.com or one of the other myriad of Dynamic DNS Services.
Then, your links would be:
DNAS link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport/listen.pls

*************************

If you really need a static ip, contact your ISP.

Static means that your IP changes contstantly as you said. Dynamic IPs are where it never changes.

The converse is true.

I know...that static ip never changes...but my problem is...that i'm using a dynamic IP right now....and I want to paste a link on my webpage; but if I reboot my computer the IP change cause my IP is dynamic so than i have to login geocities and change my link with the new IP...OK I don't want to do that anymore and I can't get a static IP...so i went to No-ip.com and i'm trying to make a static name and i'm playing there LOL

No-IP.com will give you a Static name. It changes as your computer changes.

Heh.

Falling asleep in my class resulted in a parent/student/teacher conference.

Good times.
