Including additional information for a broadcast - Winamp Mini Browser
For those people that want to include variable scrolling text or other types of graphics as additional information to a broadcast, what about creating that information for display within the winamp minibrowser ?
This would be a extremely inexpensive alternative to purchasing additional software and could be tailored to any conceivable format since its html based. Are there any tutorials on how to set up the winamp mini browser to allow a streaming station to send data to a winamp client ? i don't think this can be done w/ nsv streams yet. it's scattered on the SHOUTcast stream tho. would be nice! there's an old post with an extra "/" floating around somewhere.

of course it can be done, however I must warn you that the mini browser is now integrated in the Media Library and pretty much overrides your url with AOL content when the meta data for StreamTitle has changed.
to take advantage simply pass the url in your stream title updates. -Jay | Radio Toolbox.com |

hTtP://...
Yes, the second 'T', and the fourth 'P' are upper case. This odd mixing label in the streamurl (of stream metadata) launch the mini browser. But, in some version, it doesn't happen. |

i'm not sure of the syntax of that, but i tried URLs in an NSV metadat and it isn't working. TITLE=, StreamTitle=, and a few others. Then i wait for vid to load and hit "update links" (in 2.91) and no go..

you cannot do it that way
you have to do it manually using your browser.shingiru, that trick is so annoying, additionally I think it is no longer supported. Anyhow I released a plugin to block it

I have been afflicted by the problem which a mini browser pop-up compulsorily when I conect stream.(sometimes everytimes after metadata changed)
I hate this function. Listener(or viewer) should select allow pop-up or not. But winamp does not have this option. in_nsv of Winamp 2.91 did not have this function but Winamp 5 have. I think that this is not improvement but change for the worse. Before there is plugin gen_nomoremb.dll by oddsock. But this one does not work with Winamp 5. So I am waiting for plugin whitch kill pop-up. If you want to give some message to the viewer, you can use caption. nsvubmux of NSVTools can add caption to the nsv files. But there is some bug,I think and very few people test nsvubmux. |

Winamp has always had the ability to popup the mini browser window, I haven't seen any streams doing it with winamp5. which stream is doing it?

Perhaps you could merge the text of your choice ( Font type and size ) using some thing like softcam, into your NSV stream. Scenic Television is your ambient window to the world - - www.ScenicTelevision.com |
