Broadband - 100Mbit
Don't want to brag or anything now but apparantly Sweden will be the first country in the world to release 100Mbit to regular customers (not schools and companies). Is this true or have you seen it somewhere else? It would be fun to know.
I have 100Mbit now but that is just internally in the Swedish universitynet (Sunet). "What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad." I have choosen the red pil. |

Can't see anyone using that unless they're a wholesale pirate/downloader of pirated movies.

It's the same upload if it is inside Sunet otherwise it's "only" 10Mbit.

Broadband is overrated NOT! Anyway, by probably 2020 fiber connections will be commonplace in most peoples homes. (yes, I know people already have them, I said commonplace

Although many of the older campus connections are limited by the Ethernet wiring used in the dorms, some of the newer buildings use Fast Ethernet, and I can tell you that I have never seen downloads hit anywhere near 100Mbit per second. The closest we've gotten is downloading a Linux ISO from a local server on a gigabit connection... and that only went at 8MB/sec... and we were saving the file to /dev/null =) |

Its amazing how the media claims how broadband is dominating but somehow the 56k crowd soon takes over. Atleast now, BB providers are now getting the picture of how prices should be set.

I honestly see no point in a residential connection with download above 512kb. How many servers are there our there that even send to you above 300kb?
You'd be paying for an extra nothing |

Becuase you could download from many servers at once, of course.
Anyway, I highly doubt it's really 100 megabit. The bandwidth cost for the provider would be SO high... Freedom of speech is the basic freedom of humanity.
