port 8001

Hi folks !
I set up shoutcast server and all seems to work well (besides the webinterface but that is ok for i use VNC instead). I have a generic question about the port 8001. Server says it is waiting for connection on port 8001. hmmmmmmmm i connect my upstream with port 8000 and listeners connect to my server with port 8000 , too...
so what is port 8001 for ????
Sorry for beeing a NOOB

Portbase+1 is used to connect the source to the DNAS. Portbase is the listening port.

Hi Master !
Yes i know (it says so in the server config) but if i try to connect my source to port 8001 (entry in the shoutcast-plugin of WA2) i get no connect....it only works if i connect the source to 8000 , too.
it would make sense if the source and the listeners are on different ports but they are not ....
sorry if i am a pain in the neck

All references to the DNAS are in terms of portBase.

Use portBase in the Winamp/DSP combo.

Use portBase to connect/listen.
