help setting up a remote server
Hi,
Im trying to set up the shoutcast server on a remote linux machine and no matter what port I try I always get the same message: ******************************************************************************* ** SHOUTcast Distributed Network Audio Server ** Copyright (C) 1998-2000 Nullsoft, Inc. Did you change the DNASs srcIP and/or destIP?

I left them both set at 'ANY'.

On my Windows machine sitting right next to me I can get the server set up no problem.

Does the linux user have permission to grab the port(s)?

you need to find an open port that no other process is using
# lsof -i to output the list of open Internet files and the ports they are listening on or are established on Quote:
