Can't Receive VP6

I can watch anything else but the newer VP6 streams. Using Winamp v2.95, Asus GeForce 4 4200 Ti, Win98SE, Athlon 950, 320 MB RAM, DSL PPPoE connection (SBC), ZoneAlarm Free v4.5.530. Winamp is set for full internet permission (Even server, as most media players need to be set to this as well). Anything wrong here? I know it's Beta-ware still... thx

Winamp 2.95 does not have the VP6 support. Download Winamp 5.0 RC666

Hi everyone:

Winamp 5 RC 10 is out now. Is RC 666 supposed to be better?

Cheers for now & Happy Holidays

Winamp 5 is intended as an upgrade from the 2.x line but yes you can install them side by side. 666 is the latest official rc release.

Hi everyone:

OMG!! THIS THING FUCKIN' ROCKS!!!

And just when I was just starting to fiddle with VBR with NSV too! NO STATIC SOUND ON THE STREAMS!!! :-)

Good thing I re-ripped only the two Dragnet videos. I'll go back to my old settings now (unless the VP6 ActiveX control is also out, in which case, I'll just switch from VP3 to VP6).

Is the VP6 ActiveX control also out too?

Cheers for now & Happy Holidays

Mr Jeepers,

It would be considerate not to use profanity as routine. I believe it also states that in the forum rules.

Hi everyone:

It was NOT an attempt to violate forum rules. Rather, it was an attempt to express pleasure.

That being said, the new Winamp still ROCKS!!

Cheers for now & Happy Holidays

Yeah, I installed them side by side, on good faith. There is only one uninstaller in the Uninstall Menu in Add/Remove Proggies in Ctrl. Panel (shoulda knew better). I'll try the manual uninstall program that came with 5.
5.0 took over everything 2.95 was associated with. AND, it doesn't "forget" them, even after unchecking the associations manually. Yes, I even turned off "Restore file associations on Winamp start". No big deal though. Anyways, this is about NSV. That 1Mbps Bjork stream owns... *Almost* DVD quality (appearance) to me. DVD is 1.5Mbps, right (Minimum)?

Hi everyone:

There are a few other stations that could come down in bitrate too. Bjork's is just one of 'em.

Cheers for now & Happy Holidays
