No multiple playlist editors, bad playlist search .. ?!

Maybe I'm dumb, but I just installed Winamp 5 over Winamp 3, and got shocked!

I can't open more than one playlist editor (to edit and manage my playlists effectively), and the playlist search which shows up on F3 is more than ridiculous!

All this worked in Winamp 3 PERFECTLY, now I am forced to use an oversized "Media Library" window. Even with ML and PL opened simultaneously, I am forced to Winamp 2 style playlist editing. :-(

Is there a plugin, a switch?

TIA

Not yet. But there should be soon. DrO is working on a plugin that will do just that...

Extended Playlist

But it is a work in progress. Not ready yet. Just be patient.

DO NOT install Winamp 5 over Winamp3 or in the same directory. Did you perhaps mean the option that is given to you when installing Winamp 5?

Yeah Reaper. He MUST have meant that. If not, he would have had a disaster on his hands and posting about a Winamp3-style Playlist Editor would have been the furthest thing from his mind. LOL!

This thread, in fact, is not about installing Winamp 5 over Winamp 3.

So, what is it about then?

Winamp 5.0 is the direct upgrade from Winamp 2.91
Winamp3 aka wasabi.player was a totally separate product.

Winamp does not support wasabi wac components
which is why there is no Winamp3-style pledit.wac in Winamp 5.0
which is why there is no sidecar/poppler/multiple editors/etc.

If you don't like the default J/F3
then try DrO's Jump To File Extra
which adds a few extra features,
including Winamp3-style enqueue in the playlist,
and it is also skinnable.

Apart from that, if you're not happy, then you shouldn't have uninstalled Winamp3,
or you should take a look at wasabi.player instead (see wasabi dev forum further down the forum index)
