Winamp Pro release structure

Does anyone agree that a better way of distributing the Pro version of winamp should be thought up. It appears that people are already using cracked versions of the software...

Although after saying that I can't really think of another way of distributing it.

Oh and while I'm on the topic, would there be anything to stop someone creating an mp3 ripper/cd burner plugin and release it for free?

Craig

"free mp3 encoders" isn't the same as mp3 being free. because it's not. One has to pay to use mp3 in their product. It's patented licensed by Thompson. Take your own advice and read the forums. search "mp3 patent."

Firstly, not everyone uses pirated software.
Secondly, Nulsoft does not have to pay license fees for pirated versions of their software, and which I'll assume they don't worry about.

Cracks only work on a per version basis because the alogritm used to generate the key on the nullsoft side is not the same used to verify it in the program it self. Its the same thing that makes encryption work.

A small change every version renders any keygen useless between releases.

Also its not like its the most expensive program out there.
