Copying a Tag in MP3 Tag Studio?
I'm using MP3 Tag Studio 3. I'd like to copy (not move) the data in the "Composer" field to the "Comments" field.
I like to use the Composer tag to tag by drummer. My iPod let's me select by Composer, but WinAmp 5 does not. WA5 let's me select by Comment field, while the iPod does not. So I'd like to have the same data in both tags so I can select by Drummer on both devices. Thanks. |

Ask MP3 Tag Studio 3 help then ¬_¬
It's nowt to do with Winamp.

Ummmmmmmm... I'm kind of lost now. Does a MP3 Tag Studio 3 question belong in the WinAmp discussion forum, or not here at all?

Why would you post a question looking for support with a program other than Winamp in a Winamp discussion forum?? Think, man! Think!! LOL!
Post your question in the MP3/Tag Studio Forums instead. Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads. Sorry if I offended anyone. I posted in the WA "General Discussion" forum for a few reaons:
1. The program was recommended to me by a few WA forum members, so I thought they might be willing to help. 2. I see topics on a lot of different things in the "General Discussion" forum. I haven't seen anyone complain that people are posting questions about iPods here instead of at apple.com or starting Corvette threads here instead of at chevy.com. Sorry if I was mistaken about what "General Discussion" meant. And thanks for the link. |

You didn't offend anyone. I just pointed you in the right direction. Makes sense, right?
Have a question about a product? Ask in that product's support forums. |

@Drooling Dog...
It appears that a major attitude adjustment would benefit you and most likely, everyone else in contact with you. I mean, I first HELP you by pointing you in the right direction. You then reply that you are sorry if you offended anyone. I then reply to reassure you that you didn't offend anyone, and also graciously pointed you in the right direction. And then??? Whack!! A crazy reply from out of some area of your brain that I cannot fathom.... I apologized. Let it go. WTF is up with that? I suggest that you rethink your response to me, and also rethink how you may respond to others in the future. |

Now isn't that better?
Ask and you shall receive!!
To copy or move tags from one field to another in MP3-TagStudio do the following... In MP3-TagStudio open the menu/box/window that is called 'Direct Tag Manipulation'. In the middle of the window you will see 2 columns each with 7 boxes/rows and seperated with right arrows. In the first, second & third boxes of the left column select your tag field of 'Composer-v2'. (Use the slider on the left of the left column to select/open the boxes) Next, in the first, second & third boxes of the right column select 'Comment-v1' in box one, 'Comment-v2' in the second box & 'Composer-v2' in the third box (this last one is to maintain the 'Composer' field as is). PS...If you select Advanced Mode, you will not have dropdown menu selections in the field boxes. Good-Luck (OrioN - MP3-TagStudio Beta-Tester) and for the rest of you F#$%^s, shame on you for basting our fellow brother for having the courage to ask for help!! I took that as you laughing at me, and trying to make me feel stupid. Or at least like I wasn't thinking. Perhaps you were saying You don't seem to be getting replies here, so it might be a good idea to check..., but it didn't come across that way. I've found that the members of the WA forums have been very helpful at helping with non-WA stuff. Helpful enough that I thought I'd get their advice on a non-WA product. Keep in mind that the forum this message is in right now, "Winamp Discussion", isn't the forum I posted this question in. I posted it in "General Discussion" and it was moved here. Quote:
As far as my Let it go comment, well... I meant just that. You didn't like what I posted here because it was for somebody else's product. I realize that you didn't like me doing so, and I was trying to drop it. But you don't seem to want to drop it. I guess the choice of whether we drop it or continue arguing about something that has already been resolved is up to you. OrioN2003, thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. Posts like yours are the reason I continue visiting this forum. |

Of course I choose to drop it! It's been resolved. ![]() It's dropped. No arguing... Just some clarification first... Now that I just read your above post it appears that the only thing that happened was that you had completely misread and misinterpreted all that I said to you, and that I over-reacted to your response. The "Think, man! Think!! LOL!" was joking... levity!! Not trying to make you feel stupid or laugh at you. Unfortunately there isn't enough joking or levity in the world today, and it's even more unfortunate that people are always suspect and defensive about other people's intent. Ahhhh.. a shame but I guess that will never change. "Keep in mind that the forum this message is in right now, "Winamp Discussion", isn't the forum I posted this question in. I posted it in "General Discussion" and it was moved here." I wasn't aware of that. Nor could I be unless I was directed here from GD to the moved post. But that really makes no difference. I would still have pointed you to the proper MP3-Tag Studio support forum, for an MP3-Tag Studio question. When you say that I didn't like what you posted here because it was for somebody else's product, you couldn't be more off-base. That was the furthest thing from my mind but appears to have been your unfortunate interpretation. When you say that you realize that I didn't like you doing so, that was not then, nor is now the case. The reason I pointed you to the MP3-Tag Studio forums was because I knew you would receive the best help for your question in their support forums. There was nothing more to it than that. All I can say to you is that you were completely mistaken about my intentions, for what it's worth. And you got lucky too. OrioN2003 popped in and was indeed helpful. He appears to be a user of MP3-Tag Studio and therefore provided you the same info that someone at the forums I pointed you to very well would have. Thus the reason for my referring you there, and not what you thought. Yes, I am aware that before that one completely unexpected response to me that frankly threw me for a loop, that all your other posts were fine. I look back now btw, and admit that I over-reacted to that. My apology there. I guess it was just the shock of seeing your response. Heck! I've helped you in the past and everything was cordial between us! You thanked me... I thanked you. I hope it continues in that way in the future too. ![]() OK. All done with my clarification!! Just boils down to a misinterpretation of what I said, and an over-reaction on my part to your response, that's all. No probs. ![]() Happy Winamping, Scott!! |

WOW...and right before Baby-J Day too!
PS...I forgot to mention this..
In order to Batch Process a whole folder of files/folders do the following... Open/select the Root Folder containing all the files/folder you want to process from the 'Browse' button on the top of the program window. Next, you must also select 'Include Subfolders' check box in the 'Direct Tag Manipulation' window before you execute. ...and personally speaking, I would rather see a dozen legitamate/sincere questions even if they do not pertain directly to Winamp in this sections, THAN ONE POST FROM A NON WINAMP USER THAT COME HERE WITH THE SOLE PURPOSE OF RAGGING ON WINAMP, VAGUELY DISQUISED AS INFORMED AND EDUCATED DRIBBLE! hAPPy bABBy-J dAy! |
