2003: A year of moments

Only about 2-1 days of 2003 left! What were your memerable moments? Were they were personal or all over the media? Full of happiness or pure shit? A big impact or "who cares?" ordeal?

We actually got to get our dirty little hands on the obscenely late vBulletin 3.0.0! Not that it is out as a final version yet, and come on, waiting for it has made me lose most of my sanity!

That said, when I consider the release of a PHP message board software a memorable moment, you know that it's been boring. Although, on the release day of vB3 Beta 3, the first public beta, we got to see the developers sit on their ass making us wait, make signs like "I R Got vB3" and holding it up to their webcams and showing it to us while everyone sat in the member's area pressing "F5" and I went to Six Flags. Good times.

I think this year was a normal year.
Well, I got my self over old things in my life, I've looked for a girl, I've had fun ...
Made new friends ...
I think the most remorable moment in this year to me was to know that my uncle, that is a father to me (I mean it), wanted me to join him in his company, I love him, It would be a great thing to join him ... that's it ...
[edit] And, my travel to my uncle's house in Rio de Janeiro, with my brother and my friends, I'll never forget it !! and to Angra dos Reis, I've lost my virginity there !! hauehuaeae I'll never forget this year ! [/edit]

Downs

Me and my best friend stopped talking, because we also were ex's and it got complicated....

My Grandfather died...

Screwed up my relationship a bit when i was too drunk at a christmas lunch.

Had to retake the whole year on uni because my life was so messed up i wasn't capable of learning.

UPS

Got a new Girlfriend, who've changed my life, and scraped me up from a big depression

The previously mentioned ex-best friend wrote me a chistmas letter (might not sound as much, but for me it was one of the best things of the year)

Got a new really cool friend from Brasil i hang out with all the time.

well i heard of this lady in FL that when she was driving one day she hit an alligator that was crossing the road. she felt bad and stoped her car and put the gator in the back seat of her accord. she was taking it to the vets office, when it woke up and started thrashing around. she almost got into an accident trying to stop. when the cops got there they arrested her for illegal possesion of a wild animal.

2003 has been a year with many changes in my life for me:

-I graduated from High school
-This summer I went back to the US for a couple of weeks and had a blast
-I moved out into my first own apartment
-I went to University in Zurich to study Biochemistry, met many new people and learned many new things.

One thing didn't change though: I'm still to gether with my boyfriend (more than 2 years now) who I love so very much! ^_^ 2003 has been a great year to me!

I'm very sorry about your father, Marvin.

2003 for me:
  • Business contracts picked up, forged four new partnerships this year.
  • Finished restoration of my car, added performance-mods, gave her a name, added a custom audio system.
  • Took two (business) roadtrips after finishing my car, one to Frederick, MD and one to Indianapolis, IN.
  • Bought an engagement ring for my girlfriend.
  • Was dumped by said girlfriend (before proposing).
  • Was harrassed by said (ex)girlfriend after being dumped.
  • Received an incredible gift from (ex)girlfriend for Christmas.
  • Called (ex)girlfriend and we reunited.
  • Canceled a date I had made previously for New Years Eve.
  • Relationship (v2) not working. Should have maybe kept original New Years date.
  • Right now, I have three job possibilities in three very different parts of the country.
...So for career and relationship/family, who knows what the new year might hold for me. I think good things are gonna happen, though. My hopes are high...

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated.

Anyway, in between the rednecks round here (see, we here in Salford, UK have 'em to. Bunch of inbred, none working, shellsuit wearing, stupid hat wearing, brain dead morons) are letting off fireworks that have had NORAD on the blower asking if everything is okay here in the UK.

Come New Years Eve, I'll be watching the entire series of Rising Damp to cheer myself up.

Hope you all have a great New Years Eve and an excellant New Year.

I cap off the year online with 4 website openings and sold one for profit.

Wrote 4 volumes of poetry, 75-80 in each. Wrote at least 3 a day.

Won another trophy and plaque in writing. Added to Hall of Fame at Liliths Lair.

Still single....

Brother got engaged

Got a new custom computer from ibuypower

Ended up losing friends during university transfer...though looking forward to new ones at my new home.

Thats it...

I might as well make a list too.

Good Things:

*This is a link.
* Changed university course (don't start till next year).
* Got a job.

Bad things:

* Hated my university course
* Bad money troubles
* Got depressed a lot. An awful lot.
* Nan had to move into a nursing home.
* New flat isn't shaping up to be as good as we thought.

Wow... I've just had a shitty year... jebus.

ok...
1. Moved back from Florida to Washington (3,000 miles of pure fun in my tiny car with the rugrat and soon-to-be ex)
2. Got a job that I'm really becoming to detest.
3. Grandmother passed away while on vacation back home in the Philippines.
4. Bought myself a computer, and saved the rest of the money to get myself and the rugrat an apartment of our own.
5. Started dating again, that one ended abruptly when his bi-polar struck up and he moved away pretty suddenly.
6. Signed up for this looney bin met my fellow screwballs shortly afterwards.
7. Saw my cousin get married on the 4th of July and went to her funeral on the 17th.
8. Tried dating again, this time almost expired from boredom.
9. Started my way to becoming a forum tramp
10. Find out that once again, still no magical cure for my condition, damn rarity cases
11. Hear news that my brother-in-law will be shipped off to Iraq soon.
12. My daughter, apple of my eye, pride and joy, informs me that she "no longer wants to eat boogies, they're yucky." I guess I should be proud

Meh, I'm still alive, my daughter is in good health, we have a roof over our heads and our bellies are full. 2003 was ok, just a little bumpy now and then. Here's to begging the gods that 2004 will be a bit better

Well, in August I took out a loan for a holiday as I haven't been one on in years, decided to get a computer instead

Ended up discovering the wonder of Winamp

Began posting in South Shields Sandancers forums more regularly (because I can) and joined a few other boards

Discovered the magic of file-sharing and got the desire (if not the required opposable thumbs) to start webcasting.

Discovered that I'm a true, dyed in the wool nerd and that middle-age (getting fat, bald and hurting one's back whilst lifting something ) is creeping up on me far too quickly (as also signfied by agreeing with the Grunmpy Old Men in the BBC programme of the same name)

I can't think much for my own life...

•Got chickenpox the whole month of June (What a way to spend the first 1/3rd of your Summer vacation, and June was my 15th birthday too... )
•De ja vu almost struck when I came over a cold before Christmass (Wasn't gonna let this happen all over again, good thing I got better before I went to my dad's house Christmas Eve to celebrate with him and my step-mom's family)
•Started being more social since I first started my sophmore year this year
•Retained grades at a high point this sophmore year (Straight-A's or close, be good for a scholarship when I move on to collage)
•Recently got a check in the mail from the Kentucky Board of Education for $340 (For being recognized with having a GPA of 3.75 my freshman year...It's not much, but any money towards collage is welcomed )
•Picked up playing bass guitar (I need another recreative hobby)
•My aunt Tita had her 3rd child (3rd cousin on an already long list)

Really not much...I'm thinking more of what I wanna do with my life this year for my further years to come than I have the last few years, so that's an improvement, I guess...

It's a good thing that she got over that early. Nothing worse than seeing a grown woman eating boogies. (I mean, I just wasn't able to take my second wife anywhere.)

To everyone in this thread, my sympathies for all of the woes we've had in the past 12 months, and my best hopes for all of us to have better times in the next 12.

Happy (Coming) New Year to all!

Hmmmmm....where to begin....

1. My fiance and myself celebrated 1 year together in October.
2. The three year anniversary of my niece's death; and her 3rd birthday.
3. Two narrow misses with the big 'P' word.
4. Nearly ended my life.
5. Decided to join the Air Force (hopefully I'll get in).

2003 Sucked

Lowlights of 2003
-going to be kicked out of highschool
-was kicked out of the house a couple of times
-was fired from all three of my jobs
-parents took away most of my privlages(sp)
-drugs are baaaaaad
-gradma almost died
-weird people coming up to me on the street saying they heard I am going to get killed...
-both my best freinds are in jail(for very long sentences)
-nearby Dairy Queen, Culvers, Kmart, and Target all closed
-really super cool place that sells the best cheese closed

Highlights of 2003
-I am still alive, have a place to live, and have food to eat
-my fish are still alive!
-my cat is still alive(and getting fatter every day...)
-still got the girlfreind
-my life is getting 10X better every day!
-realeased my first CD

All in all, 2003 sucked more monkey then a rabid chipmunk, but 2004 seems to be looking up.
