Media Library filename display

I searched the forums, but was unable to find these specific issues addressed. If they have been, please point me to those posts, otherwise, here's what I'd like to know:

When I first set up the (awesome) Winamp 5, I just left the default settings on and set D:My Music as the default media library folder. It scanned it, and brought up a list of all my files, listing all the files' metadata. Now, the metadata for my 5000+ songs is all screwed up and I don't maintain it. So, I only want to see songs listed in my media library by filename, which IS correct for all files.

However, when in the media library (including the most important thing - viewing search results from my media library), there is no column for "filename", even though there are columns for even stupid stuff like "Rating" and "Play Count" but not "Filename." Am I just missing it or is Winamp 5 embarrasingly stupid in missing this?

Also, I went back and changed the settings for Media Library folders (both globally and specifically for D:\My Music - which is the only folder [plus subfolders, of course]) to NOT scan metadata ever (no guessing). I also have "read file metadata tags if possible" unchecked.

Even after rescanning, none of my music lists a filename (and title is not listed as filename, as the "no guessing" radio buttons claim.

I don't want ANY metadata to come up in my media library, only filenames. Media Player 5 SAYS it can do this but I haven't gotten it to succeed yet. Anyone know how to make this work?

Right click on the column headers at the top and select customize. You can add filename from there.

Before you rescan you need to remove the files from the Library first. Go to Local Media and select everything (Ctrl-A) and Delete it from the Library (Del). The rescan.

Just noticed another problem I haven't been able to resolve via help docs or trial and error. Under the filename column in the local media section of the media library, the filename is listed without it's path. But, when I put my whole library in my playlist, the path name is listed in the playlist (and thus, when I generate an HTML playlist, the annoying path name appears for each of the entries). How do I hide the path name in the playlist and also in the generated HTML playlist?

why don't you just uncheck the "Read file metadata tags on import if available" on the media library prefs, first tab.
