Watch for changes to the Media Library

Is there any way to catch a message or something when a change to the Media Library occurs (like a file is added or some tag information is updated)?

I've been looking into the ML plugin's MessageProc but I haven't found a way for it to catch that.

maybe havign a look at the actual file attributes??
