giving out your phone number on a public forum is not very responsible, I have taken the liberty of removing it, if you want someone to contact you through the internet ask them to email you through the email button at the bottom of your post, from there you can give out your phone number.
Now on to your problem, have you done a test of your line to varify that you are in fact able to send at a rate of 715kbps? is your average bitrate less then 715kbps? -Jay | Radio Toolbox.com |

your stream is >200kbps and listing shows 6 listeners, my math calculates ~ 1.5mbps, seems a bit bigger than your 715

In my winamp..your stream is going over 250K now. Your upload cant handle that with that many veiwers(i see 7 now). Lower the bitrate of your stream and you might even want to limit the amount of veiwers accordingly so it does not buffer.
About 50 percent of the stations listed have the same problem on there. They dont realise their upload cant handle it and all it does is buffer. They are literally streaming all the time and have no clue that nobody can enjoy their stream. Totally clueless. The stations that do play good know their bandwith upload capacity and set their amount of veiwer level accordingly with no buffer at all. Last edited by xrayspex; 30th December 2003 at 19:14. |

less go down to 2
Video Streaming is quite bandwidth intensive, your cable basic cable connection will probably not suffice to allow more then 2 or 3 connections. Consider using Third party host providers: www.radiotoolbox.com/hosts/ for a list. -Jay | Radio Toolbox.com |

Hi everyone:
Quote:
Nick, IF your UPLOAD stream is 715 Kbps., you're only going to be able to accomondate 3 people. If you use the settings I use for my station (64 Kbps. stereo MP3 with 32 Kbps. VP6 video @ 160 x 120 screen resolution), you'd be able to accomondate SEVEN TO NINE people rather easily. If you would like, I would be happy to post some screen shots of the settings I use. That being said about your station Nick, I'm STILL noticing A LOT of other stations whose owners seems to confuse their UPLOAD spped with their DOWNLOAD speed. And when they see the DOWNLOAD speed, they think they can UPLOAD at the same speed. **NOTHING** COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH!!! Hopefully a few people will see this and take steps to correct their problems. ![]() Cheers for now & Happy Holidays everyone ![]() Patrick Cook Proud Member - Electronic Frontier Foundation - http://www.eff.org/ Program Director Jeeper One Radio Network Jeeper One Television Network Denver, Colorado http://kpdcnetradio.***********/ http://kpdcnettv.***********/ BLOG PAGE - http://kpdcnettv.***********/blog.html |

Hi everyone:
Either way Slavas, I would be venturous to say (and I'm sure you probably would too ) that an excessively high max. viewer limit vs. what his cable connection can truly handle IS his problem. It's because of this that's it's just not economically feasible for me to have my TV station remotely hosted like my radio station will soon be, so I'm just gonna have to put up with having only a few users until the prices come down and hosts realize that NSV isn't really that much different than regular SHOUTcast streaming unless you set up a super hi-fi like what Jay has with XRM-TV. It's not easy to do. You will have to know your stuff.. hence the warning before you enter the forum.

Hi everyone:
Nick - First.....Check your email as I fired one your way. ![]() Second - I think Jay at XRM TV is connected to an Internet backbone provider such as Level 3 Communications. that's about the only way I can think of but only Jay (e.g. KXRM) knows for sure. ![]() Cheers for now everyone ![]() Patrick Cook Proud Member - Electronic Frontier Foundation - http://www.eff.org/ Program Director Jeeper One Radio Network Jeeper One Television Network Denver, Colorado http://kpdcnetradio.***********/ http://kpdcnettv.***********/ BLOG PAGE - http://kpdcnettv.***********/blog.html Pat Cook Englewood, CO |

get a host provider over at www.radiotoolbox.com/hosts/ several of those have been proactive about supporting NSV. or get a box with better bandwidth, on a dedicated server maybe.

KXRM, this is kinda off topic, but I have a question. NSV doesn't need anything special on the shoutcast end, so I can just buy any 128kbps shoutcast server and use it for nsv, even if they don't specify that, right?

well it depends on the host, if they catch you streaming at a higher bitrate then what you purchase they will probably unplug your account, so be sure to hit that 128kbps bitrate.
